Texting while driving can cause serious accidents. Individuals who are texting and driving have an extremely high chance of being involved in an accident. Individuals should pull over on to the side of the road if they must send a text message.

If an individual operates a vehicle and texts, they could seriously injure or kill another individual. Serious consequences are associated with distracted driving and it should never occur.

Energy Efficient Traffic Lights Have Side Effect

Posted on December 16th, 2009 No Comments

Recent traffic lights that have been installed in Wisconsin cities are causing some unforeseen problems.  The problems have recently began to show with the winter weather.  Snow and ice are beginning to accumulate on traffic lights that use LED lights.  These lights were selected because they are energy efficient and can save money with their use.  However,  the LED lights do not produce much heat which has resulted in ice accumulating on many of the signals.  It is reported that some lights can not be seen during winter weather,  which is causing a headache for many cities and law enforcement across the state.

Officials have stated that they are looking into several solutions that could fix this problem,  but for now the only fix seems to be to scrape the traffic lights by hand.

Police Launch Program Aimed at Safety of the Roads

Posted on December 10th, 2009 No Comments

Wisconsin police all across the state are teaming up in efforts to help protect individuals on the road.  These efforts are being driven by the enforcement of laws involving seatbelts and drunken driving.

Not wearing a seatbelt and drunken driving are responsible for some of the most serious and easily preventable accidents.  There is no excuse for either of these occurring.

The program hopes to raise awareness and enforcement of these two issues.  By doing so,  police believe they can help save a number of lives this holiday season.
