Hit-and-run driver sentenced to 12 years in prison

A Milwaukee driver received a 12-year conviction after pleading guilty to a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened last year. The 21-year-old driver, Jatavious Kwan Webster, was also sentenced to six years under probation by a Milwaukee County Circuit Judge.

Webster admitted to the court that he was responsible for the 2015 accident, which left Adrian McGaughy dead. McGaughy was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Kendra Hammond. According to Hammond, Webster appeared to be drag racing with another vehicle when the accident occurred. Prosecutor Grant Huebner later noted that Webster’s driver’s license was suspended at the time of the accident, so he should not have been driving in the first place.
