Driver involved in Appleton car crash dies of injuries

The male driver who was hospitalized after being involved in a car accident in Appleton, Wisconsin has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to reports from December 5, driver Richeld Pepin suffered life-threatening injuries after his vehicle was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of North Conkey Street and East Northland Avenue. At approximately 7:46 in the morning, the Appleton Police were called to respond to the crash scene. Authorities stated that Pepin was driving north on North Conkey Street when the driver of the second vehicle, a van traveling west on East Northland Avenue, struck him. Pepin was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Pepin was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. He was 85 years old. The female driver involved in the accident, only identified as a 37-year-old Kimberly resident, was not injured; however, she was given a citation for driving an uninsured vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
