Nissan vehicles with faulty suspensions recalled in some states

Nissan has issued a recall notice for vehicles in some parts of America due to a potential crash risk caused by faulty front suspension coils, a USA Today article stated.

Reports said at least 218,019 Versa subcompact vehicles built between 2007 and 2012 have metal suspension coils in the front that can be damaged by salt corrosion. Drivers of the affected vehicles may lose control and crash during operation if the suspension breaks and pierces the tires. The recall only affects vehicles in some parts of America, specifically in the Northeastern and upper Midwestern states in which vehicles are subject to prolonged cold weather. The automaker is planning to change the front suspension coils of the recalled vehicles in an effort to correct the issue.
