A recent pedestrian accident in the western part of Green Bay resulted in one fatality and the injury of another person, a Green Bay Press-Gazette article reported on July 22.

According to the Green Bay Police Department, the fatal car accident happened at around 1:00 p.m. near the Georgia-Pacific mill. A vehicle reportedly crashed into a 56-year-old male and a 49-year-old male in the 1900 block of South Broadway. Authorities confirmed that the 56-year-old man died in the collision while the other victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not reported as life-threatening.

Authorities closed the accident scene for several hours while conducting an investigation, although Police Chief Tom Molitor did reveal that neither alcohol nor drugs were thought to have played a role in this crash.
