Pedestrian struck in Whitefish Bay crash died of injuries

The female pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Whitefish Bay area died two days later of injuries, Fox 6 reported on May 29.

Kristen Caves, 26, succumbed to her injuries at a Wauwatosa hospital after she was struck by a vehicle on May 26. Caves reportedly was walking on a pedestrian lane near the intersection of Silver Spring Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard when she was struck by a car that had been stopped at the corner. The pedestrian accident apparently occurred after the stopped vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle.

Though the two drivers involved in the accident cooperated with police, authorities are expected to discuss the matter with the Milwaukee District Attorney to determine whether charges will be filed after the investigation and crash reconstruction has concluded. Though the two drivers were not under the influence, their blood will be tested. Additionally, which car struck Caves has still not been officially determined.
