Thousands of Chevy Impalas recalled for fire risk

Some 1,177 previous Chevrolet Impalas with brake pad problems are being recalled by General Motors (GM), an article of Consumer Affairs stated on March 2.

According to the recall, the brake piston arm in the 2014 Impala vehicles may not fully retract, possibly causing friction with the rotors. If the problem persists, the Impalas are at risk of catching fire due to the excessive heat produced. The automaker said that GM dealers will fix the Impalas by improving its parking brake control software. Impala owners are instructed to reach out to GM through Chevrolet’s customer service lines or website for more information.
