Intoxicated driver involved in deadly head-on collision jailed

An intoxicated male driver was booked at Lake County Jail on November 26 after he instigated an accident that killed a 46-year-old Lindenhurst man, Daily Herald reported.

Charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and negligent driving resulting in homicide were filed against Kenneth Szczesny. Szczesny reportedly struck Gordon Searle’s vehicle on Route 120 after he crossed the median. Authorities stated that Searle died of multiple internal organ injuries as a result of the crash. A passenger in Searle’s vehicle was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition. Szczesny, who is being held on a $200,000 bail, is schedule to appear in court on December 18.
