Hundreds of Nissan vans in the U.S. recalled over seatbelt problems

Over 500 recent Nissan NV passenger vans are being recalled in the U.S. due to possible problems with the seatbelts, which may endanger occupants in the event of an accident.

The recall affects at least 594 vans that, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), may have a problem in the bolts of seatbelt retractors in several rows of the van. The NHTSA stated that occupants of the affected vehicles are at high risk of suffering serious injuries if the seatbelts fail to work properly. The automaker, however, stated that they are unaware of any injuries or deaths involving the recalled vehicles. Nissan dealers will either install or tighten the bolts in the retractors in the affected vans this month.

Sadly, many people across the U.S. suffer serious injuries in car accidents due to malfunctioning safety features in their vehicles. If you or someone you love has suffered injures caused, or made worse, by an automotive defect, the Sheboycan car accident lawyers at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® want to help.
