NHTSA offers free online recall check of vehicles

An article of CBS DFW reported on August 20 that The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently launched www.safecar.gov for people to check to see if their vehicles have been included in a recall.

To utilize the free website service, people are required to put the identification number of their vehicle (VIN) to learn if it has been included in a recall and was not fixed. The website will also include information of new vehicle recalls. At least one-third of the millions of recalled vehicles every year are not getting fixed, according to the NHTSA.

Aside from vehicle owners, people who are planning to buy used vehicles can also benefit from the website. Additionally, car makers are now required to sync their data with safecar.gov by updating it once a week.

People unfortunately suffer huge financial loss when they are involved in accidents as a result of using recalled vehicles that were not fixed. If this happened to you in Sheboygan, the legal team of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. may possibly help you recover your financial losses by pursuing damage claims against negligent parties.
