Sparta man injured in suspected OWI crash

A woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol struck and injured a bicyclist in Sparta, WKBT News8000 reported on July 22.

Authorities reportedly responded to an accident that occurred on Wisconsin Street on July 21 at around 10:00 p.m. Bicycle rider Jeremy Briggs, 38, was heading east when he was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by 34-year-old Amber Rhodes. Briggs was immediately airlifted to a hospital after suffering injuries from the accident. Rhodes was arrested and appropriate charges, including an OWI.
