Thousands of Ford vehicles in U.S. and Canada with driveshaft issue recalled

Automaker Ford recently issued a recall of at least 92,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada due to a mechanical issue that can affect the drive function of the vehicles, The New York Times reported on July 7.

According to Ford, some recent and previous models of sedans and crossovers may suddenly lose their drive function due to a problem that affects the driveshaft in the right-front of the vehicles. The automaker became aware of the issue through warranty claims issued by vehicle owners. The bulk of the affected vehicles, some 83,000, are in the U.S. and more than 8,000 are in Canada. Ford said they are unaware of any injuries or accidents involving the recalled vehicles.

Accidents can result from defective vehicles, resulting in expensive medical treatment and other financial losses. If this has happened to you, a product liability attorney may work for you to seek financial remunerations from negligent automakers.
