GM recalls Saab convertibles with defective seat belts

Over 28,000 Saab convertibles manufactured between 2004 and 2011 are being recalled because of defective seat belt retractors on the driver’s side.

The seat belt retractors in about 28,789 previous models of Saab convertibles prove to be flimsy, prompting the GM recall. The broken retractors may result in seatbelt malfunction that heightens the risk of drivers sustaining serious injuries in accidents. So far, there have been no reported instances of injuries relating to the defect. GM will replace all of the malfunctioning retractors at no cost to consumers.

Unfortunately, many people suffer from debilitating injuries because of defective and malfunctioning car parts. If you or a loved one have been the victim of an auto defect in Sheboygan, the lawyers at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® may be able to help you pursue compensation from negligent automakers to offset your pain and suffering.
