Man arrested in Wausau for OWI charge

A man driving to a Wausau hospital was arrested and jailed for his fifth drunk driving offense.

According to reports, Chad Kessen, 40, was driving to Aspirus Wausau Hospital around 8 p.m. on March 6 when he was pulled over by police. Authorities pulled Kessen over because he crossed the center line of the road.

Kessen’s blood alcohol level was .12, exceeding both the legal limit as well as the limit that the court set for him. Police found an open pack of beer in the back of Kessen’s vehicle. He was taken to Marathon County jail and held on a $5,000 cash bond. His court hearing is scheduled for March 25.
