Veteran comedian Dick Van Dyke survives burning car accident

Television veteran actor Dick Van Dyke was survived an incident in which his car went up in flames on a Los Angeles freeway, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol on August 20.

The 87-year-old actor, who was very popular for his TV comedy shows in the 60’s, was on his way to a dental appointment when he heard an unusual noise coming from his car. Van Dyke pulled over on the shoulder of Ventura Freeway thinking it was just a flat tire. Soon after, however, the car began to release smoke before catching on fire. He was immediately pulled from the vehicle by some passing motorists.

Van Dyke did not sustain injuries from the incident.

Although the cause of this particular vehicular fire is unclear and no one was injured, many Americans sustain injuries that may be attributed to defective vehicles.
