UNC coach Roy Williams suspends Hairston after charges of reckless driving

University of North Carolina team coach Roy Williams indefinitely suspended leading scorer P.J. Hairston after Hairston was charged with reckless driving on the afternoon of Sunday, July 28.

State Highway Patrol pulled over 20-year-old Hairston on southbound Interstate 85 around 4 p.m. after he was seen driving 93 mph in 65 mph zone. Aside from speeding, Hairston was also cited for careless and reckless driving.

Just recently, charges of illegal possession of marijuana and driving without a license were dismissed after Hairston complied with court conditions that required him to complete a drug assessment and provide his driving license.
