Sheboygan crash hurts 2, cause car to catch fire

A traffic accident injured two people in Sheboygan when a box that flew from a pickup was struck by another vehicle on the afternoon of Sunday, March 10.

According to police reports, the accident happened around 1 p.m. on the 3200 block of Washington Avenue when an unsecured box from a pickup truck flew out of the bed of the truck, causing another vehicle to hit it and subsequently rear end the parked pickup. Sgt. Brad Riddiough said the vehicle that struck the pickup reportedly caught fire and the accident injured the truck’s passengers. Those injured were brought to a nearby hospital and were identified as Donna Brown, 61, and Rachel Fischer, 29, both from Sheboygan.

Pickup driver Willard Jepsen, 72, and the other driver, Susan Becker, 43, were not harmed in the crash.
