Recall of 1.3 million vehicles announced by BMW

BMW has announced a recall that stretches internationally and affects roughly 1.3 million models.

The German automobile maker stated that a problem involving the battery in the trunk of some models poses a fire hazard. Roughly 367,000 cars in the United States are part of this recall. A manufacturing error could have caused the battery connector cables to be connected in the wrong manor in different models. This mistake could cause the vehicle to overheat.

The affected models include the 6 Series Coupes and Convertibles, and the BMW 5 Series Sports Wagons and Sedans that were made between 2003 and 2010. BMW stated that they will begin notifying owners of these defective vehicles by mail at the beginning of April.
