Distracted teen causes Sheboygan car accident

A 17-year-old Sheboygan teenager was distracted with his cellphone when he caused an accident near North 10th Street and Michigan Avenue. The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

The teen was looking at his phone when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a motor vehicle, causing the vehicle to flip, and strike another car. Two individuals in the first vehicle that was struck were injured in the accident.

Both of the injured were taken to a hospital in the area to be treated for their symptoms. The 17-year-old was given two citations for the accident, but was not hurt.
