Sheboygan man receives 3rd OWI after car accident

A 34-year-old Sheboygan man was driving with his wife and children when he rear-ended a vehicle in front of him. The accident occurred near Ontario Avenue and 8th Street on Friday night.

When police arrived on the scene, the Sheboygan man was apparently slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol. He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and taken into custody. His blood alcohol content at the time of the accident was 0.19, more than two times the legal amount. He was charged with his 3rd OWI.

The man’s wife and children were driven home by the police. If the charge turns into a conviction, he faces a possibility of two years in jail, a $5,200 fine, and the revocation of his driver’s license for two years.
