Man injured after crashing vehicle into tree

A 58-year-old Plymouth man was driving in Sheboygan when he failed to yield at a stop sign, and crashed into a tree.

The accident took place on Cedar Lane Road. The man was traveling north on the road when he rolled through a stop sign, and his vehicle landed in a ditch before striking a tree. He suffered several broken bones from the accident, and was taken by helicopter to a hospital in order to assess his injuries.

Once released from the hospital, the man will be charged with several citations including; operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, and for not having registration for his vehicle. Police are still investigating the accident, and whether or not the man was secured in his vehicle with a seat belt.
