Man Injured in Sheboygan Motorcycle Accident

A man was injured in a Sheboygan motorcycle accident Friday.

According to officials with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Highway 67 just south of Holzman Road in the Town of Rhine. Police say 21 year-old Jeremy Jenss was traveling south on Highway 67 on a 2008 Honda CBR motorcycle when he attempted to pass another vehicle.

As Jenss was passing, he saw an oncoming northbound vehicle, tried to return to the southbound lane, and lost control. His motorcycle struck a sign, several trees, and then traveled nearly 400 feet on the shoulder before Jenss was ejected.

According to Sgt. James Gottsacker, Jenss was traveling 70 to 80 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Jenss was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported by ground ambulance to Theda Clark Medical center for treatment. No information on the nature or extent of his injuries was immediately available.
