19 Sheboygan Car-Deer Accidents Reported in 3 Days

A total of 19 car-deer collisions were reported in Sheboygan over the weekend.

According to Lt. Mark Rupnik of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, 19 vehicle-deer crashes were reported between Friday and Sunday. Accident reports show the vast majority occurred after 5:00 p.m. An additional two vehicle-deer crashes were reported Monday according to Lt. John Detienne.

November is the peak of the deer mating season, and the most common month for deer-vehicle accidents. Last year, the county averaged 4.3 vehicle-deer collisions throughout November. The monthly total of 129 accounted for one-fourth of all such crashes in 2009.

None of the 19 crashes caused injuries, according to Rupnik.
