Sheboygan Auto Accident: Oostburg Teen in Critcal Condition

An Oostburg teenager is in critical condition after a Sheboygan car accident Sunday.

According to officials with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, 17 year-old Ashley L. Ostermann was involved in an auto accident shortly after 12:00 p.m. Sunday on county Highway A near Wilson-Lima Road. The crash report says the Oostburg High School junior was traveling west on the highway in a 1992 Buick Century when she entered the east shoulder. Ostermann overcorrected, crossed the roadway, and crashed into the west ditch.

Osterman was trapped in the wreckage after the crash. Emergency responders found her unresponsive and bleeding from the head. Firefighters had to extricate her from the vehicle. She was transported by Flight For Life to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa.

A hospital spokeswoman said Osterman was listed in critical condition Wednesday.
