A Sheboygan woman was injured in a crash with a suspected drunk driver Thursday morning.

According to officials with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Humphrey Road and county Highway N south of Sheboygan Falls. Sergeant Doug Tuttle said 37 year-old Jaime Ruiz was traveling eastbound on Highway N when he failed to make a turn. His car entered a field on the north side of the roadway and rolled over.

A passenger in the vehicle, 23 year-old Amanda L. Wagner, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. Ruiz sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized.

Ruiz has been charged with third-offense operating while intoxicated causing injury, which is a felony.
