Cattle truck accident injures driver

A 55-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday morning when the cattle truck he was driving overturned on the roadway near Fond du Lac, Wis., authorities said. He said a gray sport utility vehicle pulled out in front of him, causing the accident. Police said the truck slid sideways, became airborne and tipped over.

The truck was lying on its side, and the driver was pinned in the cab but conscious when rescue personnel arrived, authorities said. Witnesses corralled a cow that got loose in the crash to prevent another accident. One of the cows in the truck had to be euthanized. The driver was flown to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wis., authorities said.
